Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block honors Boyz II Men ( Examiner.com interview)

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored Boyz II Men with the first star of 2012 on January 5.
Emcee Leron Gubler, President/CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce helped Boyz II Men unveil the 2456th Star in the Category of Recording and declared it Boyz II Men day in Hollywood.

In the 1990s, Boyz II Men found fame on Motown Records as a quartet, but original member Michael McCary left the group in 2003 due to health issues. Currently the group is a trio signed to Decca Records, with founding members Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman. The group has sold 60 millions albums.

All four original members attended the star ceremony along with Michael Bivins of the band New Edition. Bivins was instrumental in getting the band a contract with Motown Records through a production deal with his Biv Ten Records company. Music producers and artists Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds spoke at the ceremony in honor of the band.

A party was held for the band at the Rolling Stone restaurant in Hollywood to celebrate their star with many celebs and fans attending in support of the band who also performed at the event.

I spoke with Joey McIntyre of the band New Kids on the Block at the event. Click on the link below to see what they had to say about touring, music and Boyz II Men as I am losing my voice.
