BLICK: Interview with Donnie Wahlberg

20 years after the separation of New Kids on the Block you are back on tour together. Why do you pick  one more time?Because everything is so much better than it was then. It is as if you again go back to high school. But we have all made mistakes, so now there's the highest score in each test. We no longer have to worry about superficial things, the sooner we still employed - such as whether our outfit is now cool or not.You were teen stars. Have you ever had the feeling that you have missed your own childhood? My time as a carefree teenager was clearly lost. But what does already lost? I have had other experiences. As a youngster you have the world at your feet. However, just as the curse is buried. Then you have pity today with Justin Bieber?Certainly not. He has to learn and learn its lessons. I am also down illegal car racing - and in my time, the police have even helped us and shut off the street. There is only one piece of advice: Always nice to stay on the ground - even if you are flying a private jet.In May you fly for a concert in Zurich. What have you done for experiences in Switzerland? The best! I'm also an actor. And in the fall of 2000, we have rotated the Second World War series "Band of Brothers" in the Bernese Oberland. Interlaken has since been one of my favorite places ever. For me it is the most peaceful place on earth. As in the picture book.New Kids on the Block Live: Tuesday 13 May, Hallenstadion Zurich. Presale runs on ticketcorner.ch

NKOTB's Donnie Wahlberg "would love to open Wahlburgers" burger chain in Manchester

NKOTB's Donnie Wahlberg "would love to open Wahlburgers" burger chain in Manchester

The New Kids on the Block star may not be keen on the 'Manchester egg' but will certainly be sampling the burger joints when the band plays the o2 Apollo in May.
Manchester's burgeoning burger scene will soon be put to the test by a man who is quite the connoisseur on the subject – New Kids on the Block star Donnie Wahlberg.
The singer, actor and producer launched his own gourmet burger chain Wahlburgers in his home city Boston, Massachusetts with his brothers actor Mark and chef Paul. And their growing restaurant empire is the subject of an American reality TV show of the same name.
Donnie, star of the American cop drama Blue Bloods, says he would love to open a Wahlburgers in our fair city.
"I would love to open a Wahlburgers in Manchester. That’s a brilliant idea."
And he’s keen to sample Manchester’s take on an authentic American dining experience when NKOTB arrive in town for their An Intimate Evening With tour on May 30.
The Cover Girl singer said: “I would love to open a Wahlburgers in Manchester. That’s a brilliant idea.
We’ve got four new restaurants opening in new locations and Wahlburgers the TV show is doing really well.”
Trying a burger in Manchester would help to eradicate a less pleasant dining experience for the father of two. The last time the reformed boyband visited the city they tried a Manchester Egg - a pickled egg coated in black pudding and sausage meat.
He added: “Last time we were in Manchester Manchester City and Manchester United were battling for the Premiership. We went to a pub where we ate Manchester eggs and they didn’t taste too good.”
