Postcard from the L.A. edge

LOS ANGELES - Sure, we’ve seen Mark Wahlberg courtside at the Staples Center wearing Purple and Gold in the past, but his big bro Donnie - the Celts’ No. 1 celebrity fan in La-La - swears Marky’s not a Lakers fan.
“No, I don’t think he is,” Donnie told the Track. “He’s got four kids, he just needs to get out of the house once in a while. And his agent has those nice seats right next to the Lakers’ bench, so that’s why he acts like a fan.”
Of course, if there’s one thing a Dorchester kid knows, it’s how to scam! The “Lovely Bones” star was not in the house for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, so we were unable to observe his cheering demeanor firsthand, and we’re not sure who the heck he is supporting this time.
However, Donnie was in the thick of the hostile crowd, taking one or two for the hometown team. The New Kid on the Block was in front of the Staples Center pregame Thursday to chat up 710 ESPN’s “Mason & Ireland” on their radio show.
The Lakers-loving hosts were taking issue with Paul Pierce [stats]’s comments (to the Track, BTW) that many Lakers fans - in particular the celebrities - show up to be seen, not to watch the game.
“In Boston,” Donnie said, “We go to all the games.”
Which prompted a chorus of catcalls from the Kobe-cravers.
“ ’N Sync is better!” shouted one.
Tough crowd!
