‘MA Men’ stars Joey McIntyre, left, Rob Delaney and Nat Faxon.
In honor of the return of AMC’s “Mad Men,” New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre and his pals have just posted a sequel to their hilarious “MA Men” video that depicts life at Sterling Cooper - if it were run by a bunch of beer-soaked Bostonians!
“We are all Massholes, so the accents are real,” Joey Mac told the Track. “We had a blast doing it.”
In the NSFW send-up, which you can see on Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die (remember, NSFW!), Joey Mac plays Rogah Sterling, the skirt-chasing head of the Boston version of Sterling-Cooper. Hub comic Rob Delaney is Don Draper, the skirt-chasing creative director of the agency.
“Matt Damon literally wanted to do it but he was unavailable on the day we first shot it,” Delaney told the Track. “So I got to eat his lunch. But I think we can agree I did a much better job.”
A regular tour de force, Rob. Local comics Nate Cordry, Nat Faxon and Jessica Chaffin play the Pete Campbell, the closeted Salvatore Romano and the Joan Holloway characters. The MA Men swill Sam Adams, worship the Sox, Celtics [team stats] and Pats, and their big account is, of course, Dunkin’ Donuts.
In the opening scene, Rogah is making out on a swivel chair with secretary Joanie. Enter Don with a Dunkie’s crisis - the MA Men need to find a new “Time To Make The Donuts” guy, as the original Fred The Baker has died.
After lots of cracks about the Combat Zone, lobstah rolls, the Gahhhhden, Red Auerbach, “Steve” Tyler, Maaaahky Mark, Bob Lobel and a cameo by former “Saturday Night Live” cutup Michaela Watkins, Peggy - aka Boston funnygal Jamie Denbo, who wrote the skits - enters and hits on the perfect replacement for Michael Vale.
We’re not gonna spoil the surprise, but is it possible that Comcast hired the Massholes to design their new account????
