The other Wahlberg: Donnie films TV show as Oscar-nominated brother Mark tops the box office

By Daily Mail Reporter

As teenagers in the 90s Donnie was the famous Wahlberg brother, finding fame with his band New Kids On The Block.
He helped his younger brother Mark follow him into the music industry, and while Marky Mark was soon a hit, he never found the success of his brother's band.
How things have changed. While Donnie has a respectable career as a TV actor, with rare small roles on the big screen, his little brother Mark is Oscar-nominated, with his own star on the Walk Of Fame.
Mark is currently enjoying having a U.S. number one movie with his film The Other Guys a hit at the box office.

Meanwhile Donnie was hard at work filming scenes for his new detective TV show Blue Bloods in New York City yesterday.

The 40-year-old sported an array of different outfits for his role as detective Danny Reagan, as he filmed action scenes among riot police.

And while his work may lack the glamour of his brother's, he looked happy and relaxed as he donned a white vest for some scenes and a sombre suit for others.

The show, which airs on U.S. network CBS next month, follows the lives of a New York police family and also stars Tom Selleck as a police commissioner along with Bridget Moynahan as an assistant district attorney.

'Obviously, I know of all of their work, but the humility they all have for such success is amazing,’ Donnie said of the cast at a recent Beverly Hills press junket to promote the show.
Mark, who is younger than Donnie by one-year, first came to prominence as a singer with his group Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch in the early 1990s.

The Boston-born actor then made the successful transition to film acting with roles in Planet of The Apes and Boogie Nights.

He was also nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as a Boston cop in The Departed.

Donnie, however, has been less successful at acting, with smaller roles in Band of Brothers, and the Saw horror films.

He also starred with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in drama Righteous Kill in 2008.

Later that year, he reunited with The New Kids, releasing an album The Block and embarking on a concert tour.

Step by step: The childhood home of the Knight brothers

It's not listed in any tourist guide, but NKOTB fans flock to the house where the Knight brothers grew up By Johnny Diaz Globe Staff / November 15, 2008 When Kari Lusso and her trio of girlfriends flew from Seattle to Boston for the New Kids on the Block concert, they had to make a quick detour. On a rainy Saturday night, the friends drove their rental car to 10 Melville Ave. As they stood in front of the Victorian house, they shrieked and giggled like little girls. The commotion? They were at the former home of the band's brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight. When they rang the bell, they got a quick tour. "It was going from 31 to 13," Lusso said. "We took pictures of their stove. We took pictures of their floor. We took pictures of the banister, the living room, and their bedrooms. What a dream come true to see such an...

NKOTB's Joey McIntyre Gives Update on BSB A.J. McLean in Rehab

New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre has been in the music business for over 24 years and has seen some friends battle with addiction in the limelight, including Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean who recently made the decision to enter rehab. "A.J. is a sweet kid, good kid and extremely talented, so we're all there for him," said Joey. AJ admitted himself earlier this month before heading on the huge NKOTB/BSB tour. Young star Aaron Carter is reportedly seeking professional help as well to deal with some unknown "emotional and spiritual issues," and Joey commended Aaron for making that step. "To me it's usually a good thing when someone can take some time and retreat from it all and, you know, just get a little bit more centered," Joey said, encouragingly. Justin Bieber has managed to stay clean in his career thus far and Joey gave some advice to the star for staying on the right track. "Hopefully, kids like Justin… there...
