LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) -- New Kids on the Block will star in a new reality television series.
TV Guide announced Tuesday that TV Guide Network has ordered eight episodes of Rock This Boat: New Kids on the Block. The show places the band on a week-long cruise with several diehard fans, chosen in a casting special that will precede the series premiere.
The band had revealed in March that they have four shows planned in July to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The concerts will take place in Las Vegas, and will be their only North American performances this year.
New Kids on the Block first assembled in 1984, and includes band members Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood. The band enjoyed many years of success before disbanding in 1994. They secretly reunited in 2007, and released a new album, The Block, in 2008.
